Purple magazine has re-created for an exclusive photoshoot Irving Penn’s famous corner backdrop (apparently ‘inspired’ by Marcel Duchamp’s obsession with the 22.5° angle)… for thecorner.com to showcase their spring-summer collection…. Following Penn’s footsteps who shot incredible personalities of his time in this special corner, Olivier Zahm himself  shot idiosyncratic characters around him, among whom Maria Luisa has been happily chosen, next to other talented friends such as Dorothée Perret or Cédric Rivrain… The result can be seen in the latest issue of Purple magazine of course but also on thecorner.com with an exclusive behind-the-scene video. To start the holiday season with a bang we are inviting you to watch our Unconventional Conversation with Christopher Kane who has never stopped to amaze us since his Saint Martin’s MA graduation show. Shot this summer in the lovely courtyard of our neighbour – and fashion insiders’ not-so-secret favorite hairstylist Delphine Courteille,  Christopher managed to take some time in his hectic schedule – precollection, show and his work at Versus, to sit down with  Maria and talk about his background, his inspirations and his focused way or working. Our  team just got back from Doha, Qatar, where we opened our brand new Maria Luisa corner in the 51 East department store. The official opening of the store inside the Lagoona mall, just off the Pearl, with its amazing Zig-Zag towers, was quite an experience, and followed by a memorable dinner by the beach – so we are all very thankful to our partner Darwish holding without whom this wouldn’t have been possible ! We have brought our own special mix of brands, for local fashion-lovers and also fashion savvy expatriates, from Ann Demeulemeester to Christopher Kane, Rick Owens and Proenza Schouler…, and accessories by Pierre Hardy and Nicholas Kirkwood…
